Did I pass?
I don't know, but I think I didn't.
The reading/grammar section seemed easier than I expected and the listening section is always easy for me. But the kanji and vocabulary section was hard. There were many kanji I didn't know and I was guessing at many questions.
In this test you have to pass a minimum score in all sections to pass the whole test. I don't think my kanji score will be high enough.
The result will come next February. A loooong wait.
The test was in the Center for Higher Education on the Hokkaido University campus. There were 5 tests happening at the same time, 5 different levels. Maybe about 200 people? The biggest group was for Level 1, mainly Asian college students.
My room was Level 4 and there were 20 people, some Americans, British, Vietnamese, Thai people. The test staff were very strict about the test rules and there was a lot of silent sitting and waiting for the test sections to start.
One of the reading sections was e mails between two friends about a photo exhibition: "My photographs have been chosen for the exhibition" and one of the listenings was a wedding speech from a friend: "Kenji-kun helped me study at school, and I taught him how to play guitar".
Those kind of points are hard for me to remember!
Waiting until February....
