In the interview I am talking about how local authorities can help foreign tourists find out about their charms and use public transport etc to visit different places in Hokkaido.
My main job in life is English teacher - here at Imagine and at NHK Culture Centers. But I also do other work, sometimes, as an advisor on foreign visitors and Hokkaido.
For many years I have been a volunteer on the website Trip Advisor. I am active on the site's Forums - answering questions from visitors who are planning their holidays in Hokkaido. I also do some tourism writing - the Hokkaido chapter in Fodor's Japan, an American guidebook etc And of course - the Pera Pera Hokkaido books with Endo Masako.
Hokkaido tourism has changed so much in recent years. Self-driving holidays, farm stays and fruit picking/wine tasting/nature activities. I love seeing how Hokkaido changes and people in local areas try to welcome foreign visitors.
