There are religious cards with pictures of Jesus Christ, churches, praying hands, the 3 kings on camels, stars etc
There are winter scene cards with pictures of snow, trees, winter flowers, wreaths.
There are cute cards with pictures of snowmen, Santa, reindeer, cats sleeping in stockings. (Also Rude cards...but I don't have any to show you!).
There are "Peace" cards with pictures of doves and smiles.
Inside the cards are pre-printed messages like this.
There is a small printed message inside or on the back of the card about the charity. These cards are for the mental health charity and the elderly care charity.
NO lottery numbers like Japanese New Year cards!
Usually we write "love" to family and friends. To other people we write "best wishes", because "yours sincerely" seems too formal in a card.
Some people include a photocopy of a letter they have written to ALL their friends and this letter gives the family news for the past year. Or maybe photographs of the new baby or new house.
But the card itself is pre-printed. Some people make Christmas cards (many school kids do), but lazy adults...like me...
Christmas cards are delivered in December, the second week onwards until December 25.
We display them at home, putting them in the living room on bookshelves, tables etc. And many people recyle cards by cutting out the pictures after Christmas and using them as present tags for the following year.
