I have a lot of clutter.
Recently I read a famous book by a Japanese writer called Marie Kondo. It has been translated into many languages and is a best seller in England and America.
"The life-changing magic of tidying up. The Japanese art of decluttering and organizing".
On Sunday I tried. I started. My clothes. I followed the book advice and took ALL my clothes out, put them in a pile on the floor and spent 6 hours picking up each item and deciding whether to keep it or not. All day.
By evening I had four trash bags of clothes and my closet looked s clean and spacious. My clothes were now folded and easy to find. Wonderful!
During the afternoon I found FOUR formal black jackets and many red sweaters....and a lot of old T shirts that I don't wear. I found my red suit that I bought 24 years ago when I first came to Japan. I found a Halloween costume from 18 years ago.
Next? Maybe my books...or my kitchen!
Do you have clutter too? Would you like to try decluttering this spring?
