Learning English is different for everybody.
Some people like to have a text book and exercises - and some people learn best from TV dramas.
My student this morning loves the American TV drama "Family Affair".
It was on TV when she was a child. Now she can watch it on Youtube with subtitles...and she even bought the DVDs on Amazon.
Today's lesson - we played a 10 minute scene from the drama and she changed the English into Japanese...and we talked about the useful phrases and grammar.
It was fun. Mostly it was ordinary conversation - family style - but there were a few jokes and slightly old fashioned phrases too (the show was made in the 1960s).
If you have a favorite TV drama - have you looked for it on YouTube?
