Last week I was bitten/stung by an insect while walking in the long grass near my home.
At first it was itchy, swollen and inflamed - but 2 days later this large red blister grew! Look at the size of it, compared to a 10 yen coin!
The itchiness, swelling and inflammation went down after a few days - but the blister stayed...and got bigger.
On Monday I went to a skin doctor. He broke the blister, checked the infected skin and gave me a LOT of medicines to take - antibiotics to kill the virus and even medicines to protect the leg bone from infection.
Yesterday I went to the doctor again - and I have to take medicines for another week.
Surprising! I always walk around barefoot at home. And walk in sandals outside. No socks. This is the first time to have this kind of reaction.
What was it? I don't know. Maybe a "buyo"? Which is "Black Fly" in English.
When I go walking at night in the long grass with my cats I will wear socks in future!
