Nearly....finished. We did 4 intense hours of work and now all the speaking in the film is in English. Most of the onscreen captions/titles are also in English.
Here are the film makers Michiyo and Taizo Yoshida - outside their home in Sapporo.
Many thanks again to the Imagine students and friends who took part in this volunteer project, I saw the first of the film with English subtitles - and it looks great!
Uniting words and film is happening now and there are plans for a Sapporo showing of the English version in fall.
And yes, we decided that the film title should change: in Japanese it is 普通の生活, and until now it was called "Ordinary Life". However, we felt "Ordinary Lives" is a better reflection of the content. It is , after all, a series of interviews and scenes of many lives of the people of Fukushima.
Please come and see the film soon.
