When he was VERY young, he was an official photographer for the British Navy - and wartime he was in the Pacific.
In September 1945 and early 1946 he was in Hong Kong, when Japan surrendered. He took many photographs.
I'm going to donate these photographs to the Imperial War Museum in London, for its archives - but first, you might like to have a look.
This is all more than 60 years ago - and here I am, living in Japan - with a Japanese family and friends.
