Happy New Year everyone. Thankyou for coming to Imagine this year and sharing your lives and laughs with me.
Welcome to new students who joined in 2012: Mika, Yoshiko and Misaki and Kimie.
Imagine is my second home - and I love meeting you all every week and hearing about your hobbies, families, work and dreams.
Of course, this year was a BIG one for me because I went to my hometown London to enjoy the Olympics, and to revisit my father and his wife's village two and three years since their death.
And the Ordinary Lives film project came into my life. In the spring I went to a showing of the Fukushima documentary, and suggested to the producer and director that I could help with English subtitles - because I know many high level translators.
They accepted the idea and Ordinary Lives' subtitles team was created - Imagine students Tokiko and Satoko joined the team too and the film got English subtitles by November - which should help it at foreign film festivals to reach a wider audience.
* Ordinary Lives - the Japanese version - will get a showing at Theater Kino in Sapporo in February. 1 week!
So, thankyou all again for a wonderful year.
I'm home quietly for the holidays. Yes, cooking New Year food for my Okaasan...and enjoying movies (Les Miserables/The Hobbit/James Bond) and a LOT of Christmas chocolate....and skiing....and sleeping....
See you in 2013!
Happy New Year to everyone.
