Loves the soccer, loves the TV, loves decorating everywhere with flags..
This is a pub! Some where under all of that is a door and and entrance :-)
For the next month England will be all about football - watching the country's favorite sport.
Some fans even quit work every 4 years so they can spend every day watching TV or even better, GO to the tournament. Many others will be watching on TVs in offices and pubs.
It's common for offices to hold a "sweepstake" - a kind of lottery. All the team names are put in a box, you pay some money and pull out a team name. If that team wins in Brazil - you get all the money.
Of course - as you know by now...I am going to Brazil next month to be there for the final weekend.
My partner is Brazil's biggest fan in Japan, he has been since he was a child, and to be IN Brazil for the final is a dream come true. We don't have match tickets...but we'll enjoy the whole crazy atmosphere and national party.
We started off this morning....at 5 am....going to an Opening Game Viewing Party at a Latin music bar in Susukino. El Mango was open for fans and had a big screen. There were lots of TV cameras too. We cheered and groaned as Brazil beat Croatia!!
Brazilians living in Sapporo were delighted their team is off to a good start.
Me? Just a little worried about England's first game on Sunday....England vs. Italy. ;-()
